What is the differance between Santa Clause and Tiger Woods?
Porter has some sort of a sinusey cold thingy. Last night he kept mumbling in his sleep, which he never does.
2AM Porter: What?! Hey, what door do you want me to go through?!"
Me: There is no door, go back to bed.
3AM Porter: WHAT? What did you say?
Me: I didn't say anything. Go back to bed.
Then at four I had to shake him awake because I thought he stopped breathing. Talk about an interesting night.
In other news, I had a great weekend in Utah staying with Dyan and Jesse. Despite the fact that it's Christmas time, a typically busy time of the year, and my Aunt Dyan had a boot on her foot.. ya know .. because it's broken..they still had the good graces to let us stay with them. We had so much fun. We saw the lights on temple square and got to see old friends.
We only got stuck in a snow bank once.
My family is finally going to get to see my house. Well, half my family. My dad is coming through with my brothers and my sister in law. I'm excited to have house guest. I shall clean and light candles and they shall pretend to be impressed!
Just for the record, I love Christmas time the most. It is a time to truly reflect on Christ.
So as for this week. Two Weddings, Five house guest, One unfinished gift... and a partridge and a pear tree.

It's about time!
A lot has happened since our last post. The move. The new house. The new yard. The new baby. Kidding about that last one, just keeping you on your toes...
I've gone nine minutes of my lunch break left at work. Speaking of that. A guy called a few weeks ago asking if he could bring his dog in because he broke his tooth. When the Dr. declined he said, "Okay, what if I make an appointment for myself and keep my dog out in my car.. can you come out and work on him? I have some meds that can knock him out for fifteen minutes."
That's dedication to ones pet.
Not to be Negative Nelly, but Wednesdays are my least favorite. I get home right about the time Port leaves for class, then I spend a chilly night at home under a blanket eating bon-bons and watching re-runs of Oprah. Okay, maybe not the bon bon Oprah part but you get the picture.
Welp time for work. Until next time.

Nature Weekend 2009
Well what better way to spend a beautiful weekend then out and about in nature. God has created nature for our use and pleasure so we decided we better not disappoint God and we packed our weekend full of nature. We kicked off nature weekend by going to Shoshone Falls located near Twin Falls, ID. The falls is at its peak flow right now and it is amazing. We were not the only ones that had the idea of going. We had to wait about 30 min to get down to the falls but as you can see it was well worth the wait. We also were able to enjoy the company of Kelly, Linda, and Kinsey.

The Zia
Dancing Kachinas
The Zia as represented in the NM state flagThe Zia Indians of New Mexico regard the Sun as a sacred symbol. Their symbol, a red circle with groups of rays pointing in four directions, is painted on ceremonial vases, drawn on the ground around campfires, and used to introduce newborns to the Sun. Four is the sacred number of the Zia and can be found repeated in the four points radiating from the circle. The number four is embodied in:
the four points of the compass (north, south, east, and west);
the four seasons of the year (spring, summer, autumn and winter); the four periods of each day (morning, noon, evening and night);
the four seasons of life (childhood, youth, middle years and old age); and the Zia's belief that with life comes four sacred obligations one must develop a a strong body, a clear mind, a pure spirit, and a devotion to the welfare of others).
The symbol is featured on the New Mexico State flag and in the design of the New Mexico State capital. This is how we became acquainted with this beautiful symbol. We both find interest in Native American symbols and traditions. Kelsey is particularly fond of the Kachina Dolls of the the South West Indian tribes. Kelsey finds happiness and comfort in the Badger (represents good luck and wisdom) and the Kokopelli (fertility, new beginnings, and joy) Kachina Dolls that we have in our home. We encourage all our readers to learn as much as they can about Native Americans.
